OUR STORY

Built for the moment
we're living in.

A personal cybersecurity checklist for everyday people — based on EFF, NIST, and FDIC best practices. Free to start. No account needed.

A Timely Resource

The threat landscape has shifted.

Recent statements from senior government officials — including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who warned Americans to be concerned about AI hacking their bank accounts — have brought consumer cybersecurity into mainstream conversation. hygiene.guide meets that moment with a calm, actionable response rather than alarm.

Most people know they should do something about their digital security but don't know where to start. hygiene.guide brings it all together in one helpful place.

"You don't need to keep up with every new threat. You just need to close the doors they walk through."
Who This Is For

Designed for everyone. Especially those most at risk.

According to the FBI Internet Crime Report, adults 60 and older lost $3 billion to cybercrimes in a single year — and research shows this demographic is less likely to use security software, change passwords regularly, or take other basic protective measures than younger adults. A University of Chicago NORC study found that 40% of older adults report someone attempting to deceive them into sending money or providing personal information.

hygiene.guide addresses this gap directly, offering a plain-language checklist that requires no technical background to complete.

Not a service. A checklist.

The site organizes proven security best practices into three levels based on a user's risk profile. Level 1 is free and covers the essential steps every person should take. Levels 2 and 3, available for a one-time $3 unlock each, address users with greater exposure or risk. All content is sourced from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the FDIC.
